ONLINE SHOPPING TERMS

 

These online shopping terms and conditions apply to all purchases ordered online at shop.econofoods.co.za. In making use of this service it constitutes your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Online registration

Registration on our online shopping site is conditional upon your specified delivery address being within certain specified areas. If your delivery address is not in an area where we deliver, items will be displayed as OUT OF STOCK. Changing your registered delivery address to an address outside of the specified radius after the transaction has been completed either by phone, email or telephonically will result in the order being cancelled.

In order to register you will be required to provide Econo Foods with your personal details, your delivery address as well as your payment card details to accredited online payment service providers.

When registering, your email address and password used during the registration process will be used as your login details. The responsibility remains on the users to ensure their password is kept private as Econo Foods does not accept any liability, damages or loss suffered as a result from misuse of login and passwords details

You will be required to login each time you visit our shop.econofoods.co.za website. These details can be updated under the “ My Profile” tab under the main menu.

Product sales and availability

Products are sold in South African Rand (ZAR) and subjected to availability. The sale of products on line is subjected to availability and Econo Foods reserve the right to change the specifications or discontinue the products or service without notice. We will inform you as soon as products, services and offers change

Content errors

Errors do happen as a result of human error and we will always strive to meet our obligation as a responsible retailer. In this event no orders will be accepted if such and error is identified as a result of a material error. Images on our website might vary from the product packaging.

Pricing policy

Prices will be charged as displayed on site and subject to availability. Prices include VAT. Special promotions may be subject to conditions including stock availability. No Delivery Fee is charged within the specified delivery area.

Methods of payment

Payment will be accepted in the form of instant EFT and all major credit cards. The total amount will be debited to the total value of your online order against the payment card tendered by you during the check out. Payment will be affected on acceptance of your order and prior to delivery. By submitting your order, identity number and payment card details you warrant that you are over the age of 18 (eighteen), are authorised to make payment with the payment card and that there are sufficient funds available to pay for the order.

Stock availability

Stock availability is affected by numerous factors; therefore, availability cannot be guaranteed. In the event that we cannot supply the specific item a substitute product will be offered where applicable and possible. If however we are unable to supply the specific product you agree to accept and pay for the items that were delivered correctly.

Confirmation of order

Once an order is placed this implies an offer to purchase and upon receipt of a confirmation from Econo Foods constitutes that the order has been accepted and will not affect the validity should we fail to notify you of acceptance and or confirm receipt of the order.

Delivery

Orders placed before 12:00 will be delivered between 8:00 and 17:00 the following day unless an arrangement can be made that suites both parties. No order will be delivered on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays. Orders placed on Friday before 12:00 will be delivered on Monday. Orders placed on Saturday will be processed for delivery on the following Tuesday Items will only be delivered in the specified delivery areas.

Upon delivery you will receive a delivery note which will need to be signed. This delivery note shall include the customer details incl delivery address, contact details, products and quantities ordered (including any substitute products) and the value of the order in South African Rand vat incl.

The person accepting the delivery my be requested to provide proof of identification for security purposes. Should no one be available the driver will notify the DC who will then attempt to make contact. If this is unsuccessful the driver will leave a note with contact details to make alternative arrangement or arrange a new delivery or collection. Any other person at the delivery address other then yourself is deemed authorised to accept the delivery

A minimum order of a R150.00 will be required to be eligible for delivery.

Refunds and returns policy

No returns policy

Perishable items cannot be returned due to the fact that a customer had a change of mind in respect of the particular purchased item, this is due to public and food safety regulations.

Incorrect goods delivered

If we delivered the incorrect goods; the customer must inform us within 48 hours of receipt of said goods. The goods must be unopened and in its original packaging. We will either refund the customer their money or exchange it for the correct product.

Refunds will be finalised within 7 business days.

Cancellation

Should you wish to cancel all or part of an order, please send your cancellation request to homedeliveries@econofoods.co.za or contact our call centres. Please note, however, that we may not be able to cancel items from an order if they have already been dispatched. Orders need to be cancelled on the same day as the date placed.
